Many apps are now available which allow the smartphone to function as a DSLR, with options to control shutter speed, ISO, etc. For students using a smartphone as their camera, with parental permission, I recommend downloading one of the following free apps, to enable the smartphone to have manual functions. In order to download an app, students will need to use their Apple ID or Google Play account.

- Camera FV-5 Lite (FREE; The Lite version is a fully functional version of Camera FV-5, with limited picture resolution support).

- Digital camera with manual functions (aperture and shutter speed priority modes) and SD memory card
